The Qatar Olympic Academy team held a remote meeting via the live broadcast feature, to discuss the best possible ways to return to school life at the Qatar Olympic Academy, after announcing the suspension of studies in all programs, courses and activities held by the Academy inside or outside the building last Tuesday, in line with the efforts And the measures taken by the state to limit the spread of the Corona virus (Covid-19), by limiting gatherings in classrooms or public places, in order to ensure the safety of learners.
The Qatar Olympic Academy decided that the study should return to a number of programs and courses that can be provided through the live broadcast feature, distance study, and benefit from modern electronic technologies, which come in line with the human development pillar of the Qatar National Vision 2030, which serves as a roadmap for transforming Qatar into an advanced society, capable of achieving sustainable development.
The move to return to study at the Qatar Olympic Academy through live broadcasting, through the remote study feature, also comes as an urge to citizens and residents to take advantage of the time in a beneficial and useful way for them during their stay in their homes, which the Supreme Committee for Crisis Management in the State of Qatar appealed to all citizens and residents not to Get out of the house unless absolutely necessary.
During the meeting, His Excellency Mr. Jassim bin Rashid Al Buainain - Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Olympic Academy and Secretary-General of the Qatar Olympic Committee - made an intervention, urging the Academy’s staff to do their utmost to reach the highest quality standards, in this step that will constitute an addition to individuals’ society during the sensitive period.
This pillar seeks to empower the Qatari people so that they can maintain and promote growth in their country, and this requires further development in the fields of education and the workforce in general.
Mr. Saif Al-Nuaimi, Executive Director of the Qatar Olympic Academy, said: “We seek to create an attractive environment for members of Qatari society, to take full advantage of the time during the period of sitting at home during this period, as programs that can be applied to study remotely will be considered, such as : The Master’s Program in Sports Law, which is offered by the Qatar Olympic Academy in cooperation with the Spanish University of Lleida, as well as the Diploma Program in Sports Institutions Management, Olympic education workshops, in addition to a number of various courses, the content of which is currently being prepared in line with the nature of the current circumstances.
As for the study mechanism and the number of hours of lectures, Al-Nuaimi stressed, "We are now working to create an attractive environment for learners, and the programs and courses that community members can attend remotely will soon be announced."
